My name is Vanessa Fitzgerald, and I am a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner who is trained in Integrative Medicine. I am specialized in bioidentical hormone replacement, integrative cardiology, integrative pain management, integrative GI health, integrative cancer survivorship, and integrative mental health.
As a healthcare provider for 18 years, I have worked in the acute and outpatient care setting as both a Registered Nurse and Family Nurse Practitioner. I started my Nurse Practitioner career in Family Medicine and Urgent Care. During that time, I decided I wanted more for my patients. Instead of just treating disease, I wanted to learn how to get to the root cause of disease and learn disease prevention. I believe that health is a cohesive balance of body, mind, emotions, and spirit, which is what led me to specialize in Integrative Medicine. I completed my IntegrativeMedicine fellowship at the Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona, in Tucson, Arizona where I am originally from. I have also completed functional gastroenterology and bioidentical hormone replacement certifications through the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine (A4M).
My goal is to empower patients to make the best-informed decisions for themselves. I work with my patients towards developing an individualized treatment plan that encompasses a holistic approach to wellness including their mental, physical and spiritual health. I am dedicated to helping others move through pain, fear, grief and medical obstacles to achieve optimal physical and mental wellbeing. Connecting with patients on an emotional and personal level, gives me insight into disease management from a more complete perspective. I am so excited to build new relationships with my patients. The most important thing to me is personally connecting with each patient, and really hearing where they are in their healing journey to help accomplish their wellness goals.
My family and I moved from Encinitas, California to Colorado in January 2022. We chose Colorado because the mountains are always calling, and this beautiful state affords an all year-round active lifestyle. In my spare time I enjoy all things health and fitness, running, dancing, and backpacking. I enjoy my role as a mother and spending time with my family.
