Cryotherapy at a glance

Cryotherapy is a treatment that involves exposing your skin to extremely cold temperatures over a brief period of time. This causes your body’s core temperature to drop, thereby reducing inflammation, clearing toxins, and killing bacteria.

The health benefits of cryotherapy have been researched thoroughly over the years, with clinical trials showing it improves:

  • Post-workout recovery
  • Rheumatoid disease activity
  • Weight loss
  • Injury recovery
  • Inflammatory response
  • Inflammatory skin conditions
  • Effects of aging

Cryotherapy for injury recovery

When we become injured, our bodies immediately respond by creating inflammation surrounding the damaged tissue. This causes pain, swelling, heat and redness. As our bodies heal, the inflammation decreases over time, as does our pain levels.

Cryo has been used as a therapeutic modality to help people heal from musculoskeletal injuries for ages. It’s ability to significantly reduce bruising and inflammation immediately on contact not only minimizes pain, but also speeds up the healing process.

Cryotherapy is especially beneficial for people suffering from the following:

  • Muscle sprain or strain
  • Muscle spasms
  • Joint inflammation
  • Acne
  • Inflammatory skin issues

Aria's protocol

In an effort to best support our patient’s needs, Aria Integrative Health has brought Cryotherapy to you. Our Frozen C device utilizes state of the art technology, and is the first cryo treatment FDA cleared to improve fine lines, tighten skin, reduce inflammation and kill bacteria. In addition, our device has built in sensors to prevent overexposure and ensure optimal treatment success.

What to expect

Aria’s cryotherapy treatments utilize frozen carbon dioxide (CO2) to cause blood vessels in the targeted area to alternate between constriction and dilation. This enables your body to flush out toxins, improve oxygen supply, stimulate collagen production, and increase cell turnover.

Treatment time ranges between 3 – 15 minutes. The number of treatments required is dependent on the location and type of injury we are treating; though a minimum of six sessions are recommended for optimal results. Improvements are often felt immediately, with the full treatment effects experienced in just one month!
